About Us

We are here because of our customers - and we never forget that.

At Commencement Bank, we're committed to providing premier service to Pierce, South King, and Thurston counties, with a focus on traditional banking for businesses and individuals.

Our Mission
At Commencement Bank, we're committed to providing premier service to Pierce, South King, and Thurston counties, with a focus on traditional banking for businesses and individuals. We build financial success for clients by equipping them with innovative products, state-of-the-art technology, and the extensive expertise of our employees.

History
We formed Commencement Bank in 2006. Our focus on traditional, reliable, and sustainable banking met an immediate challenge during the financial crisis of 2008. It turns out, values like personal service, thoughtful relationships, and prudent decision-making stand the test of time — and weather the ups and downs of a volatile economy. Guided by a seasoned senior management team made up of talented local bankers, we've expanded our reach into new areas. Our goal? To ensure that more of the Puget Sound has access to true community banking.

Community Involvement
At Commencement Bank, we're more than community bankers. We're community partners. We encourage our employees to positively impact the communities where they live and work by building relationships, inspiring philanthropy, and promoting goodwill.

Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Mission Statement

At Commencement Bank, we believe that a diverse, equal and inclusive workplace drives value for our employees and makes us able to better serve our community. We foster a diverse and inclusive work environment in which employees have equal access to information and opportunities to realize their full potential and are valued for their expertise and authentic perspectives.
